Technology is SICK!!!

Nike is one of the biggest companies here on earth. They spent million of dollars to promote their company and products. One of the advertisement I like is Nike + iPod TV commercial "Running + Motivation" (2006) They did a great job producing this advertisement and it catch my attention by me watch this man running; it have iPod that’s communicating to him how far he running or how many miles he have left. This ad makes it memorable and effective to me because I’m a runner and I own a iPod. During my training I use this big GPS watch that tells me how far and how fast I’m running. Here what I see in this commercial it have a little device that connect with the iPod that tells you how far you’re running. I’m like wait a minute. You telling me I can go out a buy this program that can read how far I’m going and does everything else for you while I’m training and here I spent about $300 for a little watch that does more than telling you how fast or how far I ran. All I need a program that can tell me how far and how fast I’m going. Nike just promoted to me that there a simpler program that I can have. I just like watching the guy run and a woman telling him how far he has left to run. The element I found that is “puffery” is the technology is SICK. It’s sick because you have an iPod going on another level that’s use for training. In the future I won’t be surprise that iPod will be use for everything as a daily basic usage for someone that can rely on. The ad really sells because everyone can relate to a how iPod works and all over America there are many runners that use iPod while they are training. It’ll make easier for a person lifestyle that is active. Most people here in America that is active are watching this advertisement because people are looking for something that’ll make it easier for them. The advertisement also targets those who are Nike fans will basically buy everything they need. No, I have not bought the product yet because I DO NOT WATCH TV! I’m now finding out about this product. Someday, I’m planning on buying the product for someone that willing to use this program with their iPod. This would be a great Christmas gift for someone! GET YOUR NOW!!!

What a Life...Future

Having a guest speaker is class is great, but why does our guest speaker either don’t want to show up or come in late? Yes, we understand things come up. At the same time if you’re guest speaker, people are expecting you coming in on time. The guest speaker we had lately was not good and it was too short. We barely know him. Mr. Riff was our guest speaker. Hopefully in the future we’ll have a better guest speaker and come in on time.
Mr. Riff was okay speaker, even though, he came in late. What he shared was about his career life. He was basically almost all over America working a job. Finding out what he really wants to do. He is a writer. I think he started writing professnal early 1990s. After Mr. Riff traveled all over the place in America chasing after his dreams, he finally found his dream which was here in Missouri where he was born. He is a teacher at Lindenwood University. He’ll start teaching next semester called “Electronic Writing.” This is his warning “If you’re going to be in my class, you’re going to have to read and write a lot!” He said all of that because this is part of the future. Media is moving higher and higher here in this world and it’s almost taking over. Future Media We have to be careful and not let the media control everything all the time. We as humans do not need all of that help. That’s why God blessed us a brain like Mr. Riff and us. Let’s not get too lazy and relied on technologies all the time.
In class we have talked about the internet and it’s growing every day. Internet is all over the world. You can go to a poorest place in this world and still fine internet. In the future there will be a lot of job on the internet and businesses. Communication majors will be number one in many different Universities. It’ll be number one job here in America and most of the money will be in that field; however, it’ll be catching up to doctor’s income.
